Life Aquatic, Shaun in the City 2015
This sheep wants me to go to a swim class this week.
For their deep-sea design, illustrators David and Jodie Partington (Peskimo) decided to cover Shaun in lots of sea creatures – the life aquatic is certainly a new experience for this farm-loving fellow!

Justice Lamb, Shaun in the City, 2015
I am volunteering tonight at Bristol Riverside Theatre in PA for Witness for the Prosecution
so I thought about this sheep which was in Bristol, England.
Order in the court! Justice Lamb is an expert on the law, having trained at the baa-r for many years before becoming a judge. Artist Mike Ogden has given him a fine wig and robe so that he always looks his best when presiding over the court!

Buddleia, Shaun in the City (Bristol, England), 2015
This sheep says that today is a good day to work in the garden!
Artist Sarah-Jane Grace’s design features a wild and magical garden where butterflies rest among the plants, including the appropriately-named ‘buddleia’ or butterfly bush. Eight different British species of butterfly appear on the sculpture, all painted in delicate detail by Sarah-Jane, as well as a special three-dimensional ladybird perched playfully on Shaun’s ear.

Posy, Shaun in the City, 2015
Today is my garden club meeting and plant sale so I am posting some public art with flowers.
Covered in wildflowers and dragonflies, Posy is a blooming marvellous design from part-time painter Gabrielle Ruffle. Inspired by her back garden in Totterdown, which is overflowing with flowers, Gabrielle hoped Posy would inspire visitors from Bristol and beyond to plant their own mini meadows.

Woolly Wonderland, Shaun in the City, 2015
I am learning how to crochet. This sheep is perfect for showing all the pretty creative things you can do with crocheting.
Artist Vicky Harrison’s crafty creation is something Aardman’s very own knitting queen, Wendolene Ramsbottom from 'A Close Shave', would be proud to have produced! Vicky has used fantastic freestyle crochet to give her Shaun a real-life woolly jumper that shows just how creative – and cuddly – wool can be. (Note from Ruth - in England a jumper is a sweater)

Monday I found an earring that was missing for a few weeks. It was in my lunch box!
I thought that posting this cow would be fitting:

Super Cow, Houston CowParade 2001
I saw the movie, Superman III Sunday night so I thought about this cow.
Super Cow has the unique distinction of being the cow with the best view of CowParade, as she was mounted approximately 400 feet on the arm of a working crane in downtown Houston.
Super Cow was inspired by the juxtaposition of a cow and a superhero. The idea of such a docile, peaceful animal saving the city from evil villains is unexpected. The image of such a lumbering, rotund animal wearing tight, udder-fitting spandex and walking up a vertical wall is inspirational. The artists said, We hope the overall result is amusing and that when people see Super Cow, they laugh and feel a little safer knowing that they are being protected by this high flying bovine superhero.
Stuff Creators is a Houston-based design consortium that makes professional-quality, truly unique stuff that people cannot get anywhere else. Consortium members are assigned projects based on expertise and personal interest. Charles Buchanan, David Buchanan, Jill Butler, Jason Holden, Kristy Kyle, and William Lidwell conceived, designed, and created Super Cow. The group has a wide variety of professional and personal interests including engineering, instructional design, graphic design, industrial design, writing, painting, drawing, and metalwork.

Summer Garden Rabbit, Cleveland Public Art 2011
Yesterday I listened to a talk by Bruce Crawford from Rutgers University about new and unusual annuals so I wanted to post a public art sculpture with flowers. Bruce talked some about Rutgers Gardens. His talk made me want to start my garden! The photos after the rabbits is a new petunia.
